Small Garden Design – Thornham
The photographs below showcase a recently finished project for a couple in Thornham. The brief was simple – to give the garden some TLC, keep it low(ish) maintenance and add a bit of WOW factor … and don’t forget remote control garden lights. Not a problem for Louise Barby – head of Garden Design at Balanis Gardening. This small overgrown courtyard garden was tranformed in 4 days. A new garden – just sit back and enjoy
The finished garden with silver birch, bay standards and steel lawn edging
After that – all the beds were stripped of all but a few plants including some nice old climbing roses. Louise’s design incorporated 3 x silver birch trees, hyrangae, pyracantha, several prairie grasses, 2 x bay standards, cyclamen and much more

The steel lawn edging was added around the existing lawn following some organic reshaping. The flower beds were treated to 2 tonnes of compost and 2 cubic metres of bark topping

Remote control Garden Lights – the finishing touch
The finishing touch was the remote control garden lighting system – providing 4 light settings at the touch of a remote control
