Courtyard Garden Design (Brancaster)

Courtyard Makeover

The Design Brief

The garden design brief here was to take an overgrown and unloved Brancaster courtyard garden and transform it to an oasis of calm & tranquility. This was achieved with the introduction of raised Oak beds, several established potted shrubs and a water feature. We also added some outdoor mood lighting and up-lighters making the area safe and comfortable to use throughout the day and night. We use a fully qualified local electrical contractor for all our garden electrics.

Overgrown Shrubs and Weeds everywhere

BEFORE – weeds throughout and overhanding shrubs in need of cutting back and pruning. This particular customer wanted all work to be completed chemical free. Weeds were removed with butane gas burner and the area treated with an environmentally friendly saline solution to prevent re-growth of weeds

Unuasable Water Feature – overrun by plants

BEFORE – the water feature was overrun with no room for fish or other pondlife. The only option was to remove everything and start again.

Oak Planters & Seating installed

AFTER with the new oak seating, oak planters and water feature in place the garden transformation is well under way. The broken and unused water feature in the centre of the beds has been re-lined and filled. A new water feature pump added by our contractors at Bailey Electrical keeps the water fresh and clean.

AFTER with grasses, lavendar, pinks and heucheras

AFTER – with several new potted plants including Olive tree standards
